Supervisory Referrals

Supervisory referrals can be appropriate when an employee’s job performance problems continue despite best attempts to correct through normal supervision.  A referral to ERC is normally made as part of a larger corrective performance plan. Although the details of the counseling remain confidential, attendance and adherence reports can offer insight into an employee’s motivation. Often supervisory referrals provide employees the ‘push’ they need to address problems affecting their physical and emotional health, as well as performance on the job.
